~ There are a number of musical projects now available to download from Bandcamp. These include remasters of Malcontent's Embarrassment of Riches EP (with an extra track), and two albums by The Fussbudgets: Hog Wash! and The Naked & the Daft (with extra track). Plans to release this material as CDs and/or vinyl are in the works, with no definitive release date; it may depend on interest from the public. Also available are a Dean collection, Demos of the Mind; as well as singles, "If You're Gonna Break My Heart" and "Linda Fiorentino." As for The Injured Parties, there are two offerings currently in production: the Chop House Demos, and Lagniappe, a rarities collection.

~ News spring cleaning: In April, Larry gave a number of readings supporting publication of About the Author, beginning with The Cafe (video of the reading here), The Book Cellar (a National Poetry Month event), Cole's (celebrating the release of The Logan Square Literary Review vol. VI, including Larry's poem, "Monday Night"), and culminating with the official book release shebang at Quimby's. Three of Larry's students taking part in the Hands on Stanzas program were featured on the new Chicago Publishes site; check out work by Amy, May, and Natalie. The Injured Parties' performance at this year's International Pop Overthrow festival was reviewed.
~ Goodreads now has a number of Larry's chapbooks added: Rate of Exchange; Flint; QWERTYUIOP; Barking Up the Wrong Tree; Eyes, Ears, Nose & Throat; Workers' Comp.; Identity Theft for Dummies; I Am Spam; and About the Author. In addition, Zenith Beast's 1991 publication by Libby Brahms, First Washing Machine has also been noted. Facebook pages have also been appearing for some of these titles, with more to come. ~ September was, relatively speaking, a quiet month. Larry read at the Series A mini-conference held at the Hyde Park Art Center, and settled into his teaching artist role at two Chicago public elementary schools. He is also teaching two sections of composition at McHenry County College this fall and spring.

~ Work has begun on LOD's third solo album, Good Grief, in Chicago, with bassist Ned Doherty and drummer Howie Kantoff providing backbeat. Guests scheduled to participate include Bobby Sutliff (of legendary power-poppers, The Windbreakers), Dan Thomas (Second Hand Poets), and Wim Oudijk.
~ Larry recently featured at Myopic Books, The Cafe, the Fixx Reading Series, and the Sulzer Regional Library as part of the Chicago Public Library's CityVerse series.
~ Read recent LOD poems from a session held at the Uptown Writer's Space; this work is also set to appear in the anthology, The Statistics of Synchronicity: Writing Proven to Resonate, edited by Jim Liautaud, UIC Clinical Professor, Behavior Research and Modification.
~ LOD recently participated in the 14th Annual Poetry Marathon at Woodland Pattern Book Center in Milwaukee. This was his second reading at WPBC, and he premiered two new persona poems, one about Tom DeLay, and the other, from a work-in-progress based on persons who died in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in California.
~ Larry is proud and excited to be working as a teaching artist for the 2007-2008 school year through the Poetry Center's Hands on Stanzas program at Shields, McPherson, and Solomon Elementaries.
