~ Despite scary rain and thunderstorms with lightning earlier in the afternoon, the sun came out for the Chicago Poetry Showcase at the Printers Row Book Fair. Here, LOD dazzles the crowd with his dactylled diphthongs:

~ Work has begun on LOD's third solo album, Good Grief, in Chicago, with bassist Ned Doherty and drummer Howie Kantoff providing backbeat. Guests scheduled to participate include Bobby Sutliff (of legendary power-poppers, The Windbreakers), Dan Thomas (Second Hand Poets), and Wim Oudijk.
~ Larry recently featured at Myopic Books, The Cafe, the Fixx Reading Series, and the Sulzer Regional Library as part of the Chicago Public Library's CityVerse series.
~ Read recent LOD poems from a session held at the Uptown Writer's Space; this work is also set to appear in the anthology, The Statistics of Synchronicity: Writing Proven to Resonate, edited by Jim Liautaud, UIC Clinical Professor, Behavior Research and Modification.
~ LOD recently participated in the 14th Annual Poetry Marathon at Woodland Pattern Book Center in Milwaukee. This was his second reading at WPBC, and he premiered two new persona poems, one about Tom DeLay, and the other, from a work-in-progress based on persons who died in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in California.
~ Larry is proud and excited to be working as a teaching artist for the 2007-2008 school year through the Poetry Center's Hands on Stanzas program at Shields, McPherson, and Solomon Elementaries.
~ The 2nd Annual Chicago Calling Festival has ended. Larry was pleased to participate, having read at 32nd&Urban Gallery in Bridgeport.
~ Larry recently read at Uncommon Ground, the Old Town School, Morton West High School, the MCA's Literary Gangs of Chicago series, 2007 Poetry Marathon at Woodland Pattern Book Center in Milwaukee, and at ChicagoPoetry's Whole Lotta Love & National Poetry Month events at the Mercury Cafe -- video coming soon!

~ Larry and the rest of The Injured Parties recently returned from Nashville, where they mixed their debut platter with Mark Nevers (Clientele, Lambchop, Bobby Bare, Jr., Clem Snide)!
~ The Injured Parties has begun work on its debut CD at Chicago's North Branch Studio. Recording will continue throughout early & mid-2006, with mixing by Mark Nevers scheduled for the fall.
